Our Story

Almost 200 years of history, open to the world.

A name since 1829

As early as 1829, a landlord of the Linde was recorded in Donaueschingen, and the house itself is first mentioned in writing as far back as 1707. In 1848, the landlord of the day even served as an elector for the Frankfurt National Assembly.

Rebuilt following the Great Fire

In the great town fire of 1908, the previous building fell victim to the flames. The plot changed hands for 75,000 Marks, and in 1910 Hotel Linde rose again in the Art Nouveau style of the day, which still defines its façade today.

The Rust family since 1999

In 1999, the Rust family acquired the property. In 2008, they took over the helm themselves, eager to channel their love of travel and hospitality into a hotel of their own. Their journeys took them to the far corners of the globe, bringing home inspiration that still shapes every room at Hotel Linde today.
